About

Physiotherapy is a master's degree program in the area of medical and health sciences, with an educational program of 5 years (long-cycle master's degree) and ends with a degree ("Master's"). As part of their education, students will learn how to diagnose diseases of the musculoskeletal system and take preventive health measures. In addition, they will learn how to carry out physiotherapy procedures and learn massage techniques.

A candidate for a physiotherapist is a person who is not indifferent to the suffering and weakness of another person - he or she will be interacting with people who are disabled, ill, who have lost their mobility as a result of injury - so it requires a lot of empathy and patience.

The candidate should demonstrate the ability to establish good contact with the patient, kindness, self-control, but at the same time it is a profession for a firm and decisive person able to motivate the patient to be active, so that the planned therapy will have the desired result.

The graduate of the Physiotherapy course, in accordance with the Law of September 25, 2015 on the profession of physiotherapist (Journal of Laws 2015, item 1994) - which legally regulates the independent practice of the profession and work in medical institutions, acquires full rights to practice the independent medical profession of physiotherapist.

  • During your studies, you will learn in detail the anatomy of the human body, become familiar with the progression of many diseases, and learn how to conduct and control effective physiotherapy.
  • Classes are taught by an experienced team of doctors and physiotherapists.
  • Classes are held in professionally equipped teaching laboratories with the use of the University's modern infrastructure, which meet the requirements of teaching standards in the 21st century, such as the Department of Anatomy, the Medical Simulation Center (equipped with a 3D anatomical table, phantoms, anatomical models).
  • The educational program includes 1560 hours of apprenticeship, which take place in renowned hospitals and rehabilitation clinics in Lublin.
  • Candidates for studies who have documented work experience have the opportunity to submit documents confirming the practical skills acquired during recruitment and apply for recognition of learning outcomes for selected modules, including the practical module (apprenticeship).

Studying Physiotherapy, you will gain the knowledge and practical skills necessary to diagnose and plan the physiotherapy in musculoskeletal dysfunctions, internal diseases, as well as to undertake activities for physioprophylaxis and health care.

The priority of the education is to prepare the graduate to cooperate in an interdisciplinary therapeutic team, with regard to the care of people with organ and systemic dysfunctions and in physioprophylaxis. An important part of the education is a master's seminar. The graduate acquires knowledge of scientific research methodology necessary for the preparation of scientific papers.

Students have the opportunity to improve their skills and acquire knowledge in numerous optional classes and professional practice selected according to individual interests. In addition to the subjects of vocational and directional education, the university provides optional modules in geriatric physiotherapeutic care and Physiotherapy in Sports.

For physiotherapy enthusiasts, the university offers development in student scientific circles, participation in scientific conferences and national physiotherapy knowledge competitions.

Career prospects

Upon graduation, the graduate will:

  • Be a professional in providing physiotherapy services.
  • Be able to introduce various physiotherapy methods and techniques tailored to the patient's functional needs and abilities (movement therapy, massage, manual and fascial techniques, physical therapy and balneotherapy treatments).
  • Work with patients with a variety of conditions, you will learn how to deal with athletes, children, urogynecology patients, the elderly.
  • Be able to apply physiotherapy to neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, rheumatology, surgery, cardiology and cardiac surgery, pulmonology, pediatrics, geriatrics, psychiatry, oncology and palliative medicine and metabolic diseases, among others.
  • Able to conduct physiotherapy after sports injuries.
  • Diagnose and conduct physiotherapy for children with postural defects.
  • Prepare for independent practice as a physiotherapist from diagnosis to planning and conducting the physiotherapy process.

Graduates of Physiotherapy will work in public and non-public health care institutions (e.g. hospitals of various profiles, specialized outpatient clinics, rehabilitation clinics and physiotherapy offices, multispecialty clinics and spas), rehabilitation centers for remedial exercise for school and kindergarten children, rehabilitation-educational centers, sheltered workshops and occupational therapy workshops, public and non-public institutions conducting activities in the field of disability, business entities conducting pro-health activities (e.g. wellness centers and clinics, massage parlors, as well as fitness, wellness and spa centers), sports establishments (e.g., club wellness parlors, sports and medical clinics and central sports centers).

Enrollment fee - is a non-refundable, one-time administrative fee, regardless of the course, level or mode of study. It is a prerequisite for the acceptance of documents for studies.
Annual fee - is an opportunity to pay a fee for a period of one academic year.
Semester fee - is an opportunity to pay a fee for the period of one semester of study under the standard program of study.
Installment fee - is the possibility to pay the fee in ten installments.

From the second year of study, upon the individual request of the student, it is possible to split tuition fees into instalments.
