Computer science is a science that is both technical and scientific in nature. It is worth mentioning that it has been the most popular field of study in the group of technical sciences for many years. The reason for this, in addition to the high earnings already during the studies, is the opportunity to carry out their own projects and develop themselves in many areas in the field of computer science. Second-degree computer science students are people who very often have already been working in their profession for many years. This is due to the high demand of the labor market for specialists in this field, as well as various industries in which the employment of a computer science graduate is essential. Completion of the second degree in this field, in addition to expanding your knowledge by learning, among other things, in a state-of-the-art cyber security laboratory, will allow you to increase your earnings and the possibility of further career advancement, and interesting and modern specializations will allow you to stand out in the labor market.

Why choose this field of study?

The studies in the second degree program in Computer Science are interdisciplinary in nature, and the educational process has been planned for 4 semesters to ensure that students gain in-depth and broad knowledge in the field of IT applied to security systems, management, administration and in solving social problems. Both external and internal stakeholders were involved in the preparation of the educational concept. During its development, the opinions of representatives were taken into account: university lecturers, employers, representatives of IT companies, students, graduates and managers. The study program is complemented by professional internships during which students have the opportunity to acquire the ability to put into practice the knowledge acquired during their studies, as well as work in a group and strengthen interpersonal communication skills. Students also have access to highly specialized laboratories of applied computer science, including a cyber-security laboratory that is unique in the country.

Specializations

The specialization in Cyber Security and Information Systems Administration provides students with advanced knowledge in the design, implementation and operation of network operating systems, configuration of computer networks, as well as their management, with particular emphasis on data security (storage, encryption and transmission), application and system reliability, cyber security and ICT systems auditing, cyber threat detection and cyber attack prevention. Examples of modules implemented in the specialization are:

  • ICT systems security and auditing;
  • Administration and security of operating systems;
  • Information security management;
  • Computer forensics.

As part of the specialization in Programming and Data Analysis, the student is provided with advanced knowledge in the field of design, programming and implementation of software for companies with special emphasis on the knowledge of its production and maintenance cycle. The study prepares graduates for the design of information systems, programming of distributed applications, especially web applications or mobile programs. Students will additionally be able to build functionalities of integrated management systems, B2B, B2C and Business Intelligence systems, analyze and process information using advanced database solutions, artificial intelligence and machine learning methods with the use of Python language. Examples of modules implemented in the specialization:

  • Web systems programming;
  • Python application programming;
  • Database applications;
  • Artificial intelligence and machine learning.

In turn, as part of the specialization Digital Technologies in Business, the student is provided with advanced knowledge in the application of modern digital technologies in business. The studies prepare graduates for the implementation and use of information systems from the ERP group, customer relationship management using computer applications, the application of virtualization techniques, conducting modern business based on Internet technologies including social media, e-marketing. Examples of modules implemented in the specialization are:

  • Customer relationship management – CRM systems;
  • Business graphics;
  • E-marketing and social media;
  • Internet technologies in e-business.

Career prospects

Graduates, depending on the specialization studied, are equipped with qualifications and skills that are attractive on the labor market, allowing them to enter and perform interesting professions as:

  • security systems designer,
  • cyber security specialist,
  • ICT security inspector,
  • IT auditor,
  • IT manager,
  • virtualization and cloud computing specialist,
  • computer network and information systems administrator,
  • programmer/tester of information systems,
  • database systems administrator,
  • data analyst.

At the same time, he is prepared to work in enterprises/units with different profiles of activity, in particular in:

  • IT companies and telecommunications network operators,
  • government administration,
  • financial and insurance institutions,
  • companies engaged in the development and implementation of application software,

Enrollment fee - is a non-refundable, one-time administrative fee, regardless of the course, level or mode of study. It is a prerequisite for the acceptance of documents for studies.
Annual fee - is an opportunity to pay a fee for a period of one academic year.
Semester fee - is an opportunity to pay a fee for the period of one semester of study under the standard program of study.
Installment fee - is the possibility to pay the fee in ten installments.

From the second year of study, upon the individual request of the student, it is possible to split tuition fees into instalments.
