Doctoral Studies

The purpose of the Doctoral School is to educate doctoral students and support them in preparing their dissertation and obtaining a doctoral degree. The educational process consists of providing doctoral students with comprehensive knowledge, developing their skills and competencies necessary to carry out the research carried out within the framework of the Individual Research Plan and prepare a doctoral dissertation.

Education at the Doctoral School is provided in the following scientific disciplines:

Technical Informatics and Telecommunications
Economics and Finance

The standard period of Doctoral Studies is four years. During their studies, doctoral students gain experience in conducting scientific research and its dissemination as well as in planning and implementing research projects.

Education at the Doctoral School:

Prepares you to obtain a doctoral degree,
lasts 8 semesters and ends with the submission of a doctoral dissertation,
is conducted on the basis of an educational program and an individual research plan.

Education at the Doctoral School is carried out in the form of:

classes including lectures, seminars, recitation class, laboratory or project exercises, conducted in Polish or English,
scientific work in cooperation with a supervisor or supervisors,
participation of the doctoral student in scientific conferences,
preparation by a doctoral student of scientific publications and a doctoral dissertation.

The Doctoral School is free of charge. The doctoral student is awarded a scholarship.

For the 2022/2023 academic year, the monthly doctoral scholarship was at least:

37% of the professor’s salary – until the month in which the mid-term evaluation was conducted,
57% of the professor’s salary – after the month in which the mid-term evaluation was conducted.

The amount of the doctoral scholarship may depend on the achievements of the doctoral student.
