The rules for awarding the Rector’s scholarship are regulated by:

  1. the Act of 20 July 2018. Law on higher education and science
  2. the WSEI Lublin Academy Student Benefits Regulations
  3. Appendix No. 2 to the Regulations of Benefits for Students of the Lublin Academy of WSEI Detailed rules for awarding the Rector’s scholarship.

The Rector’s scholarship may be awarded to a student who has achieved outstanding academic, scientific or artistic results or sporting achievements in a competition at least at the national level.

The Rector’s scholarship is awarded in two categories:

  1. academic category – (academic and artistic achievements)
  2. sports category – (sporting achievements).

The scholarship is awarded to no more than 10% of students in a particular field of study, including in the sports category – no more than 3% of students receive the scholarship.

The Rector’s scholarship in the academic category can be applied for on the basis of the grade average for the previous academic year. Additional achievements are scored according to the document: Detailed rules for awarding the Rector’s scholarship.

The Rector’s scholarship in the sporting category can be applied for on the basis of sporting achievements in individual or team competition at least at the national level and are scored according to the document: Detailed rules for awarding the Rector’s scholarship.

You cannot receive the scholarship, among others, if:

  1. you are not a student, e.g. after being struck off the list of students or after obtaining a degree/dissertation defence, or you have not completed the formalities necessary for admission to university.
  2. you hold a degree:
    1. master’s degree, master’s degree in engineering or equivalent;
    2. a bachelor’s degree, an engineer’s degree or equivalent if you are re-entering a first degree programme.
  3. you have been studying for more than 12 semesters, regardless of whether you previously received scholarships and/or aid payments, with the proviso that within a period of 12 semesters you are entitled to benefits for studies:
      1. first degree – no longer than 9 semesters;
      2. second-cycle studies – for no longer than 7 semesters.

The total period referred to above shall be extended by two semesters where a student has undertaken a full-time master’s programme whose duration as specified by the law is 11 or 12 semesters.

  1. The period referred to in subsection 3 shall include all semesters begun by a student at studies, including semesters when taking dean’s leave, with the exception of semesters of further first-cycle study commenced or continued after the award of the first bachelor’s, engineer’s or equivalent degree. In the case of study in several fields of study, semesters taken concurrently shall be treated as one semester.
