On Monday, September 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., a ceremonial signing of a cooperation agreement between WSEI University in Lublin, the Lublin GameDev Foundation and the PoligonStudio company took place in the WSEI University building. The event was attended by representatives of all three institutions, symbolically beginning a new stage of cooperation for the development of the computer games industry in the region.
The ceremony was attended by Teresa Bogacka - Chancellor of WSEI University, Marek Opielak, Ph . D . - Rector of WSEI University, Michalina Gryniewicz-Jaworska, Ph . D.- Professor of WSEI University - Dean of the Faculty of Transport and Computer Science at WSEI University, Patryk Galach - President of the Lublin GameDev Foundation, and Robert Miedziocha - co-owner of PoligonStudio.
The signed agreement assumes broad and long-term cooperation, which aims to support the development of the computer games industry and the education of future specialists in this field. The cooperation includes the organization of game development marathons (game jams), i.e. regular events during which participants will have the opportunity to work on game projects in a short period of time, gaining valuable practical experience. Also planned are joint academic and industry conferences that will bring together experts, students and game enthusiasts, enabling the exchange of knowledge, trends and inspiration related to gamedev.
In addition, as part of the cooperation, academic circles will be established for computer science students, focused on developing skills related to game development and testing. They will include workshops, lectures and group projects that will allow students to deepen their knowledge and gain practical experience. In addition, the Lublin GameDev Foundation and PoligonStudio will actively support students in the implementation of their own game projects, offering mentoring and assistance in the publication and commercialization of their works.
The signed agreement promises to be a collaboration that will not only strengthen game development education, but also contribute to the development of innovative projects in this dynamic industry.
