The 10th National Scientific and Training Conference in celebration of World Autism Day at WSEI University

Sexuality of people on the autism spectrum and with intellectual disabilities – this is the topic of the 10th Scientific and Training Conference, which can be attended by teachers, doctors, and parents alike.

- The event will take place on March 27 at WSEI University in Lublin and is a continuation of activities launched in 2014 by WSEI University, the “ASDreamer” Foundation, and Special Elementary School No. 26 in Lublin. This is the tenth joint initiative of the aforementioned institutions within the framework of World Autism Days Lublin 2025 - “Let's Be Together” - informs Ilona Hofman, MA, director of the Center for Postgraduate Education at our University.
This year's meeting will include lectures and workshops:

- Introductory lecture - Neuronormative children and adolescents towards puberty, sexuality, and love.
- Scientific and training lecture for teachers - Sexuality of students on the autism spectrum and with intellectual disabilities. Education and therapeutic support for challenging behavior.
- Scientific and training lecture for parents - My child on the autism spectrum and with intellectual disabilities and their maturation, sexuality, safety.

The introductory lecture will be given by Dr. Marta Pawelec from WSEI University in Lublin, a psychologist, experienced diagnostician, and therapist working with children with developmental disorders. In turn, scientific and training lectures will be given by Dr. Izabela Fornalik, a certified clinical sexologist and certified CBT (cognitive-behavioral) and DBT (dialectical-behavioral) psychotherapist, and member of the Board of the Polish Sexological Society.

- Teachers, professionals, doctors, and parents are invited. This is an excellent opportunity to learn how to prepare people on the autism spectrum and with intellectual disabilities for the developmental period and how to cope with the challenges of entering adulthood - emphasizes Dr. Katarzyna Wieczorek, President of the ASDreamer Foundation and lecturer at WSEI University in Lublin, a specialist in diagnosis, therapy, and education of people with developmental disorders, especially those on the autism spectrum.
