WSEI University Lecturer Among the Laureates of the Presidential Office Competition

Mariusz Sutryk, Deputy Director of the Monoprofile Medical Simulation Center and supervisor of the Nursing Students’ Scientific Circle at WSEI University has been named a laureate of the “Together for Seniors” competition. The competition is organized by the Presidential Office of Poland and is held under the honorary patronage of the First Lady.

The "Together for Seniors" competition was initiated in 2021 by the wife of the President of Poland, Agata Kornhauser-Duda, to promote and reward the most interesting and valuable projects and initiatives undertaken for the benefit of the elderly.

At the end of February, a meeting of the Chapter for this year’s edition of the "Together for Seniors" competition took place at the headquarters of the Presidential Office. The meeting was chaired by Minister Piotr Ćwik, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office. During the voting, the Chapter members selected the finalists of the 4th edition of the competition.

Following the Chapter’s decision, Mariusz Sutryk, a nurse, paramedic, lecturer, and Deputy Director of the Monoprofile Medical Simulation Center at WSEI University was named one of the laureates of the 4th edition of the competition in the "Young for Seniors" category.

It is worth emphasizing that the Nursing Students’ Scientific Circle, supervised by Mariusz Sutryk, organizes free training sessions and preventive health screenings for seniors. Mariusz Sutryk also leads workshops and lectures as part of University of the Third Age, provides advice on medical examinations, teaches safe medication practices, and discusses errors in diagnosis and first aid.

-This is a great honor for me, but I would like to emphasize that all these activities are carried out together with students from the Scientific Circle at the Monoprofile Medical Simulation Center. I consider this nomination a collective success and a recognition of our efforts, as well as the commitment of WSEI University in supporting seniors - says Mariusz Sutryk.

The award ceremony, hosted by the wife of the President of Poland, Agata Kornhauser-Duda, is scheduled for May.
